ResearchSoft ("we", "our", or "us") operates researchsoft.in and related products, including our website, publications store, and client services. This policy describes how we handle personal information — aligned with common practices used by leading technology companies (transparent collection, limited use, and user control). By using our services, you agree to this policy.

Information you provide directly

  • Account registration: name, email address, and password.
  • Publication purchases: payment details processed by Razorpay (we never store card numbers).
  • Free publication requests: name and email address used to send your watermarked copy.
  • Contact and service inquiries: name, email, phone number (contact form), project description, and message content.
  • Job applications: name, contact details, resume/CV, salary expectations, and work experience.
  • Profile updates: profile picture and display name.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Device data: operating system, screen resolution, and browser version.
  • Cookies: HttpOnly refresh session cookie (API domain), short-lived access tokens in memory, and preference cookies where applicable.
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3: behavioral signals used to detect bots — governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

  • Send transactional emails (order confirmations, email verifications, password resets).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Publication Purchase Policy

Digital publications only

All publications sold on ResearchSoft are digital products only. We do not sell or ship physical copies. Upon successful payment, you receive instant access to your digital publication.

No returns or refunds

Because digital content is delivered immediately and cannot be "returned", all sales are final. We do not offer refunds once a purchase is completed. If you experience a technical issue preventing access to a purchased publication, contact us within 7 days and we will resolve it or issue a credit at our discretion.

Delivery via email within 1 day

Your purchased publication or download link is sent to your registered email address. Delivery is typically instant after payment confirmation, and never longer than 1 business day. Check your spam/junk folder if you do not see the email.

Immediate access after payment

Access to your library is granted immediately after your payment is successfully verified. You can download your publication from your account library at any time.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and protect the platform from automated abuse. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features (such as staying logged in) may not work correctly without them.

We currently use:

  • Session cookies: HttpOnly refresh token cookie set by our API after sign-in (not readable by page scripts).
  • Google reCAPTCHA: to distinguish humans from bots on public forms.
  • Razorpay: payment processing cookies governed by Razorpay's privacy policy.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your data only as necessary to deliver our services:

  • Razorpay: processes payments. Your card details go directly to Razorpay and are never stored on our servers.
  • Email provider (SMTP): used to send transactional emails. Your email address is passed to our SMTP service to deliver messages.
  • Google: reCAPTCHA data is processed by Google per their Privacy Policy.
  • Google (Gemini API): messages sent to our AI assistant may be processed by Google. Do not share sensitive personal information with the AI chat.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.

6. Legal Basis and International Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis (such as GDPR in the EU/UK), we process personal data to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests (security, product improvement, and support), and comply with legal obligations. We may process data on servers or through providers located outside your country, including India. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual terms or equivalent protections offered by our service providers.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Account data is retained while your account is active. After deletion, we remove or anonymize identifiable data within 30 days, except where law requires longer retention (for example, payment and tax records). Security logs are typically retained for up to 90 days.

We apply industry-standard safeguards including bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS-only data transmission, JWT authentication with short-lived access tokens, and signed single-use download links for paid content. No system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability — request a copy of your data in a structured format.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our site. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
